How it all started...

Julie Langton Smith MSc has been running the Langton Smith clinic since 1997. It was first established in Horsham, West Sussex and remained a base for nearly 20 years. Julie also worked in Harley St, London for 7 years within this time commuting between the two clinics. In recent years Julie has established her Littlehampton clinic from her home and works with patients locally as well as from far afield.

“My approach to health is by focusing on the presenting symptoms and working with the patient to find solution focused therapies. These include having time for each person and offering my experience as a fully qualified naturopath and psychotherapist/hypnotherapist to enable better health, emotionally, mentally and physically. Energy is the base of my belief in the way we feel. If our energy is distorted in anyway and for any reason we begin to feel low in spirits. This can then lead to conditions and illnesses such as depression, anxiety, panic, pressure, fatigue, IBS, weight fluctuations, relationship issues, unhappiness and physical health fatigue.”

Julie offers a non-clinical environment, working from home which is a warm and friendly atmosphere. This enables a more relaxed approach to discussing personal health issues. The main therapies are Psychotherapy and counselling using a transpersonal and mindfulness approach, hypnotherapy both clinical and health as well as full Bioresonance health screening. About Julie

Training, qualifications & experience

Julie’s career in healthcare started in the late 1980’s with a little known therapy at the time called Neuro Linguistic programming, she continued her studies in Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology (function, structure and pathology of the human body), advanced training in sports physio and physical therapies, (physio at the Horsham Rugby club) then progressing onto complementary therapies such as Kinesiology and Nutrition and Diet, Bio Magnetic therapy, homeopathy and acupuncture.

Julie has worked as a naturopath for many years specialising in Bioresonance Therapy with an emphasis on food intolerances, a healthy digestive system and full health testing. Julie acknowledged the powerful connection between the mind and body with regard to good overall health and therefore studied Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy. Julie wanted to further validate her work by doing a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Psychology and Consciousness Studies at the University of Northampton. This allows for a more mindful, spiritual and human approach to health issues bringing in a deeper understanding of some of the underlying reasons for symptoms ranging from IBS, weight, headaches, insomnia, cravings, back and joint pain for example.

Julie is an experienced practitioner who has lectured at the University of Westminster, Association for Fibromyalgia and the Association for Systematic Kinesiology. She has been featured in Health Sections of Spirit & Destiny, Best Magazine, Body Language, BBC and author of ‘Slim Now with Fish’, a booklet sponsored by Nestle and what was known as The White Fish Authority in the 80’s. Julie has also lectured in Anatomy/Physiology and Pathology as well as Nutrition and Diet offering accredited diplomas in these subjects. Her clinics have included Horsham, Harley St London and Littlehampton.
